Graves Disease is an Autoimmune Disease that cause your thyroid to OVER-PRODUCE thyroid hormones and can be dangerous if not treated with anti-thyroid medications.
Usually the person is put on anti=thyroid meds and a beta blocker to bring the hugh levels down.
Not treated can result in thyroid storm (atrial fibrillation).
Graves Disease is where you have antibodies that attack the thyroid causing high hormone levels and as I said...can be life threatening if not treated.
You have Graves Disease for life but the hyperthyroidism can be managed.
I have Graves Disease, WAS Hyperthyroid, had RAI and TT done in 2008 and doing great now.
Post some of your history for others to help you.
