Google: "forumotion myxedema" to read the indepth article.
I had visual hallucinations myself with hypothyroidism. But as for smell hallucinations (phantosmia, or olfactory hallucinations) i looked extensively an no mention of smell hallucinations with hypothyroidism.
Today i was looking online about my skin condition myxedema and came this information on hypothyroidism. It's only when you aren't looking you find it lol..
"Hallucinations of smell, and less often, sight and hearing, delusions of persecution, and clouding of consciousness can be seen. People sometimes report being irritated by an electric current or constant humming in the ears, or tortured by bad smells."
hi. thanks for your time. the gap between now and my first posting was due to computer problems. as i've written i only know the number that prompted me to write here. after my visit with an endo m.d. in july i'll post again when i get any results. thanks for your interest. pauline
hi barb. i don't know the particulars you're asking. i have a first appointment in july with an endochronologist to investigate. as far as i know i do not have lime disease or a brain tumor. more later. thanks for your answer. till next time, pauline
Was that TSH that tested at 131? Were there any other tests done, such as FT3 and FT4? If so, please post those results, with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.
I don't have it real often, but sometimes I smell weird things that no one else smells. Don't know what causes it; I had it way before thyroid. I have neither Lyme disease nor a brain tumor.
I don't want to be the harbinger of doom, but this is a very common lyme disease symptom, and it can be an early warning of brain tumour.
I think you should tell your doctor about this.
