thyroid

I am a 39year old female who is tired all the time... I have pain on the right side of my neck where there seems to be a lump.  The doctor ordered a ultrasound and it came back as saying  many small nodules on the thyroid.  A CT was conducted of my neck and it came back with the thyroid being asymmetrical and showing calcification in the posterior thyroid.  An uptake scan came back 'within normal limits'.  The doctor has order me to do blood work (which all ready came back normal twice) for the next three months.
Any ideas?

I DO have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism- weight gain, extreme fatigue,  etc etc etc. The doctor just keeps saying to 'diet and exercise'.  Trust me, if I had an energy I would exercise, I used to go to the gym five days a week, now all I want is to sleep.

If you are not feeling any symptoms, stick with what the doctor tells you unless you begin to feel abnormal in any way then get back to the doctor.
