thyrois cyst, should i be worried abt cancer

hi, im 25 and last month i found a lump in my neck, wich was noticeble on the outside of neck. on monday saw a ENT consultant who said it was a thyroid cyst, he did a fine needle biopsy, waithing on results and has referred me for a ultrasound.

he drained fluid from the lump, and it has gone down in size. could someone plz tell me wether i should be worried abt my results? thank you

thank you, i am waiting on getting my scan done next week, hopfully i will noe more then.

Usually a cyst is not cancerous.  A cyst is filled with fluid.  If it is solid and vascular, i.e., it has a blood supply, then they worry more about cancer.  Cancer needs a blood supply to function.  Solid lumps are referred to as Adenomas, they have only a 5-15 % chance of being cancerous.  I think you should be concerned enough to watch it, but I think you should put the worry into other things. =)
