I can tell you from my own personal experience that emotional issues have been a big part of my thyroid problems! I was told by my endocrinologist that everytime your thyroid levels fluctuate it can have an effect on your mood/emotions. For me, every time my levels change I get easily irritated and I cry at the drop of a hat. She explained to me (and my husband) that I am not crazy and this was a very normal part of thyroid issues.
Also, my TSH is currently 9.1 and I am bruising and have definitely been depressed. I believe every person is different and their body handles their levels differently. Like the previous poster, I would suggest taking her to an endocrinologist. Hope this helps!
I have gone from Hyper to Hypo to Hyper and to Hypo again. In the Hypo phase, I feel depressed, like someone ran my over with a MAC truck, and more easy to bruise. Talked to the Endo yesterday. These are all symptoms of Hypothyroidism. 15 is high and she probably is having quite a few symptoms of Hypo.
Is she taking Synthroid?
I was curious so I looked up some of the symptoms you mentioned for you daughter. Hypothyroidism affects almost anything and everything!! So it is very possible this might be a contributing factor in her problems, I'd get her to an endocrinologist!
A 15 is high, but not critically high. When my daughter was born, her tsh was over a hundred. Right now, her tsh is 23, still high, but t4 is in the normal range. If she is hypo, then she may show signs of being lethargic, but I've not heard of bruising or depression. If she is hypo, that may be contributing to problems already there. I don't know how much this helps, but hopefully it helps to know someone cares! Good luck.
