tyroidectomy scar

i had sub total tyoidectomy in april the scar looked raised what can i do to prevent scar formation?

I am 5 weeks post TT and once the strip came off I started puttin Vitamin E Oil on it.  I didn't try Mederma because I had used it before on a smaller scar and it didn't seem to work as well. I have a thin redish white scar going across my neck and it seems like it is flattening out.

I tried everything to prevent mine from looking like that....it still does.  Although, recently it has...for some reason...gotten a lot better.  I am 23 months post thyroidectomy...to the day!!!  August 30th celebrates my 2 year anniversary without my thyroid.
