ultrasound report - likelihood of this being cancer?

I don't understand half of this description but aren't these nodules awfully large?  If any on you knows what this means, please tell me.  Thank you so much for caring.

HISTORY: 65-year-old female with decreased thyroid function.

FINDINGS:

The right lobe of the thyroid gland measures 4.5 x 1.8 x 1.9 cm.  In the inferior pole, there is a heterogeneous nodule, which measures 3.4 x 1.1 x 2.4 cm. No additional nodules are identified.

The left lobe measures 3.0 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm. In the mid lobe, there is a subtle hypoechoic nodule, measuring 2.1 x 1.0 x 1.1 cm.

The isthmus is thin. There is a subcentimeter nodule notedslightly to the left of midline.

IMPRESSION:Bilateral thyroid nodules, the largest in the right inferiorpole. These are nonspecific in appearance, and, depending onclinical suspicion, either short-interval followup to ensurestability versus percutaneous biopsy could be considered..

TSH  0.20     normal  .34 – 5.60
FT4   0.77     normal  0.6 – 1.6
FT3   3.2       normal  2.4 -  4.2

I had a 6 cm nodule on the left thyroid. The surgeon removed the left side of my thyroid two weeks ago. I now have a lump in the middle of the incision about the size of a golf ball, it is not causing any discomfort. Should I be worried?

See if your PCP can arrange the FNA biopsy sooner than October 1st.  They should be able to schedule this for you rather than waiting for the Endo to do it.   Hang in there!

No lump in throat feeling or any compression, choaking, pain etc.  Just all hypo signs even though blood work indicates hyper. I am taking no thyroid medications. I am really worried because I can't find find a surgeon in the Austin TX area that will see me with only Medicare/Medicaid insurance.  I can't even get in to see and Endo till Oct.1st.  My PCP did these test.

Multi-nodular goiter.....and yes, these are large nodules; specifically, the one on the right lobe which is likely why the lobe measures so much larger than the left.  These should certainly be biopsied with FNA rather than waiting for follow up.  Any other symptoms?  Are you feeling any compression or "lump in your throat" feelings?
