From what I see there is someone things based off that US report that would warrant a biopsy.
I agree. these situations are very tough to get through. Alot of us have been through this.
If you concerned about this being thyroid cancer do some reading about it. It's a very curable situation - IF this biopsy proves anything and it's a blessing that your doctors wants to move forward to rule it out too if that is the case.
I am really not very good at reading these sort of reports, but from what I see, you should get the biopsy no matter what.
I agree with Stella5349, it is a large complex nodule that warrants a biopsy. The lack of calcifications is good, this can be a sign of malignancy. The lack of lymphadenopathy means that you are not showing any swelling of the surrounding lymph nodes which as also a good sign.
The waiting certainly *****! You may wish to contact your doctor and see if you can get in sooner to reduce your anxiety and just "get it done". I found that if you give them a sense of urgency, they can find a way to get you in earlier. 2 months is a long wait mentally. Hang in there!

My new ENT Surgeon told me this week my nodule slightly smaller than yours would have to come out asap without a biopsy first. He said a needle biopsy on a lump that size would be " a shot in the dark " and one that size needs to be removed regardless of a biopsy report. I am scheduled for surgery on Aug. 10th. Waiting even 10 days is scary so I know what your going through. I would call my surgeon and see if he can't move me up. Good luck to you, let us know what happens when you talk to your doctor.
thanks everyone for all your replies! I'm scheduled to see my doctor this friday so I'm going to try and see if I can get things moving more urgently. Waiting is the hardest part and the fear of the unknown. I'm trying to read up and learn more about thyroid nodules but at the same time it's scaring the **** out of me! I'll keep you all updated as things occur. Thanks for all help and support!
Hi all,
Just wanted to provide an update on my situation. I will now be going for my biopsy on monday aug 10. I was on a cancellation list and someone did so I was bumped up. Now I have mixed emotions .......relieved that I'm getting the biopsy done but yet at the same time really scared about what they will find. It's an ongoing emotional rollercoaster and I guess there's nothing I can really do but wait and see what happens........
