ultrasound results
so I got my results back, the lady at the dr.'s office said they came back normal. so, blood test, ct scan, ultrasound(all costing about $1,200 with no insurance) and they say im fine.
well I went to the dentist and he said i have a very deep infection from a molar, and I asked if that could be why i have a swollen thyroid and a firey feeling in my throat sometimes, he said you bet!. well i've been on antibiotics since last tuesday(july 17th) had the tooth extracted wednesday, and the thyroid is still swollen a little, my throat still feels hot inside on and off and im feeling so tired today, wouldn't the antibiotics have worked by now? i know there must be something else wrong with my thyroid, it's frustrating not knowing what is going on. I do feel bad for complaining, there are so many of you on here with much bigger and more freightening problems :-( and you all seem to handle it with such strength, i dont know how you do it. I just want to feel better.

well I just read that tooth infections can spread to your throat and even your heart and brain, so imagine ho wmuch more im freaking out now. I'm almost out of antibiotics and i dont see the dentist again until wednesday, I think I might have to go to an oral surgeon and get my thyroid or neck drained or something, it's so overwhelming
They may switch the antibiotic. So sorry all this is happening. WHen I had my two root canals right before surgery they told me unless they were cleared up b4 surgery there would be no surgery as it can travel (the infection) to the neck area ..... ::::e hugs::::: Cheryl
You should ask for copies of all your test results. I keep copies of all mine and do my own research. Also, I keep copies in case I want to switch doctors or in case of a medical emergency. Doctor might tell you you are normal even if you're slightly out of range. This slight thing might not be big deal to them but makes a huge difference in what you are feeling as symptoms. Do not feel bad for complaining. That's what we're here for -- to support each other.
i have no idea, all they did was call me on the phone and say they were normal. i never got to look at the results in person.
I wonder if i have tonsillitis? could this cause your thyroid to swell a little?
