update

Saw the endo today. He said that the surgeon had problems with the right lobe..nothing to worry about but he believes that is where the infection is at. The left lobe was cleanly take out.  He put me on Levaquin for 7 days. Said the cipro wasnt strong enough. I am to take 1 vicodin 3 times a day for the next 7 days MINUMIN. Thank God it doesnt dope me up. That should cover the fever and the pain until the leviquin kicks in.

My numbers are
tsh 28.280
t4 1.0
t3 1.7
He increased the synthroid from 75 to 125. He was really surprised that I wasnt feeling the effects of the levels more then I am. Other then fever, and pain my only complaint is feeling run down. But I think that is more from the fever then the levels.

He also said he FULLY believes that I WILL start feeling better within a week. Please please please!!!!

For the first time in a month......I think there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Rhonda

Sorry it made you so sick.  As I said it did me, too.  The dizziness and headache should go away.  Take the prilosec about an hour or two before you take the levaquin and eat some yogurt right before you take it so that it is already in your stomach.  It really does help.

took my first dose last night and was SICK!  Hubby was sitting by the couch just watching me....think I was freaking him out. I got real dizzy, sick to my stomache and had one he(( of a wicked headache. They gave it to me during surgery and I did just fine
I will try again tonight, taking it at bedtime with more food and the prilosec. I hate the idea of adding it to my ever growing list of drugs I cant take

I have never had a yeast infection before, and holy cow I sure dont need one now!!! LOL

It's about time they tell you.  Don't tell me surgeon didn't already know, just didn't want to tell you he had any trouble.  Jerk!!

Are you stocked up on yogurt and yeast meds.  Just came off of 15 days of Levaquin.  It does make you sleepy, did me anyway.  Maybe won't bother you.  If it tears up your stomach make sure you take Prilosec with it.  It's allowed.  I took mine at night b/c it made me sleepy and it bothered my stomach even with the Prilosec.  Oh, I also ate yogurt after taking it.  If it does give you yeast infection you also need AZO!  If you have never tried it for one it is amazing stuff.  Just discovered it a week ago.

How big is your dose?  Mine was 750mg.  Horse pill.

So how weird is it that Im not really feeling the effects of the high TSH???? havent I always been saying Im a screwy type of person?? LOL

By the way...I never got a chance to tell the dr about the rude nurse because she was the one to take me into the room. I didnt recongize her voice but as soon as we sat down she APOLOGISED for being rude to me the other day!!!!! Her babysitter had quit on her an hour before she was to be at work and she got into trouble for being late. I told her that I understood but she would get into even more trouble if she behaved like that again to another patient and they found out about it. She is really young so I gave her a break and didnt mention it to the dr.....my good deed for the day :-)

So what is with that surgeon not to recognize his own doings?  It took the Endo to figure it out or for the Endo to speak with the surgeon and get the "low down"?

I'm glad you should be feeling better soon .. Levaquin can make you dizzy and make you tired (ugh) so I hope not for your sake!  Your TSH is high .... I hope that comes down soon, too.

Geez, what a rough time of things and to think the surgeon and his nurse have blow you off like this.  ACK!!!!

I am glad you got an antibiotic and hope it knocks the infection out soon. Your TSH is really high. Hopefully it will be coming down at the same time your infection clears up and you will feel amazingly better soon.
