I haven't been taking vitamins but I will def give it a try. My doctor's office just called back today so I will be having my fna on Tuesday (maybe I will be able to talk to someone about being tired then). I too am looking forward to having all this stuff figured out. I am just glad that I went to the doctor when I did, my mom had been trying to get me to go to the gyno for months and I had completely been blowing it off. I really hope that this new gyno and endo give you some answers, please keep me posted :D
Yes girl all the time. Are you taking any vitamins?? I found that vitamin c helps get me through the day.! I met an awesome gyno. He is concerned with pcos and my selfesteem. I am having several more tests done. He wants me to see an endo. Apparently we have four here. So hopefully will get to the bottom of this!:) I am so glad they caught yours when you are so young. It can really lead up to a lot of problems. I am full of them at 29. Just make sure that you know as much of your familys history as possible it will help!:) Keep me updated on your endo!
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions, sometimes it just makes you feel better to know that you aren't completely crazy, lol.
I really don't know a whole lot yet, my doctors haven't really explained a lot to me. But I will def keep posting, it helps a lot to get other people opinions and experiences.
Yup...I literally can't remember a time when I wasn't tired--that's how long I've been dealing with exhaustion. :( Just hang in there, and eventually it'll get better. At least you've discovered the problem and are taking care of it early! I went through college (just graduated) being soooooooooo tired all the time--sleeping through classes, falling asleep during an exam or two, not having energy to do anything--and not knowing it was sleep apnea and a thyroid problem. I'm glad I'm finally on the path to getting it fixed, though, so I can be awake for the rest of my life. It's nice knowing I'm not the only one stuck on this boat! If you think there's a chance you might have sleep apnea as a result of your goiter (blocking air flow when you're sleeping), have a sleep study done. If you do have sleep apnea, this can be treated with CPAP and potentially Provigil, a drug that successfully combats excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and makes you feel wide-awake and alert. If you work a full-time job or are heading to college in the fall and you're still feeling completely exhausted, talk to your doctor about it; it couldn't hurt.
Good luck and keep us posted!
Honey
You are so young and I read your journal - thanks for posting that - sometimes it helps when answering questions.
With your goiter issues - you may swing a bit up and down with hypo symptoms. It is not fun at any age.
What treatment are you getting right now? You don't have that listed.
Post your last labs - Do you have them and if you have the report from the scan - touch a bit on that on what they said about the goiter itself.
are you hypo maybe you need to increase your meds or maybe check your iron and adrenals
Feel so tired and groggy some mornings, can barely drag myself out of bed. There are time I sleep for 8-10 hours and feel like I've had not sleep what so ever at all. Then the very next day, I feel great on only 4-6 hours of sleep.
Thyroid disease certainly has its ups and downs:)
