We need more info to be able to give you some answers.  I assume she has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.  What testing was done to diagnose that?  Could you please post the test results and reference ranges?  What kind of pill are you talking about that she took three weeks ago?

Thanks for responding to my knowledge it was a radiodine pill and during her last Dr visit he informed her that her levels were to high to start the hormone pill and to return in 6 weeks for another visit. In the meantime her anxiety attacks and sleeplessness still continue

What were her labs levels?
If you dont know them, ask her Doc for a copy of them.
If she is still hyper then it wouldnt hurt for her to go on a beta blocker to help with the hyper symptoms...ask her Doc for a prescription.
Your wife can start on a very low dose of T4 med when her TSH hits 6.0.
Dont let it go any higher ,then the normal dosing is usually 25mcg every 2nd day and increasing slowly with blood labs done every 4-6 weeks.
Once your wifes levels start to 'even out', the depression and anxiety will lift.
I do suggest however that your wife reads up on everything associated with the thyroid and then this wont be as hard to deal with.

All the best and hugs to your wife
