My question is, while undergoing treatment for gravesGraves disease, is there a diet that helps? i have tried to lose to no avail. was going to try the atkins next? is it a no lose situation until i am either regulated or undergo RAI or a thyroidectomy?
has anyone lose weight that is gaining with gravesGraves disease (instead of losing), or should i just watch what i eat deal with the 20 lbs gained and counting and wait until remiss, or one of the above.
From what I can gather, you are taking anti-thyroid drugs? Have you had your levels checked lately? Back when I was taking tapazole, it worked a lot faster that anyone thought it might. Fixed my hyperthyroidism WAY before my appetite matched my metabolism. Almost instantly put on 20 lbs.
I had to reschedule my first followup appointment for a couple of weeks later, and my doctor was a little upset that I had gone so far hypo. She adjusted my dose, I stopped gaining weight for the most part. However, I really didn't lose any weight until after my TT. My weight has always been a battle for me, going Hypo for that time period sure didn't help. The only time I easily lost weight was when I was off the scale hyper. Wish I could have that back for just a couple of weeks!
I wish you luck. I know how frustrating Graves can be.
thanks, yes on PTU
had levels checked, tsh still 0.00 ft3 and ft4 ok now however.
I eat like a bird, so who knows.
I feel doomed to be this size.
thanks for sharing in the frustration.
