Wish I could help. I've been on Synthroid and "stable" for 2 years. Still have hair loss, fatigue, feel cold, depression. Thyroid tests are "normal." Endo told me it was menopause and to suck it up. Actually, his words were "I have patients who are literally DYING..." (read: your problems are trivial) and to "go meditate on what's really important in your life." (How 'bout feeling good, you overpaid, egotistical moron?)

My PCP told me I had anemia and has had me constipated for a year on 2-3 iron pills/day. The hematologist today said I was NOT iron deficient. She's testing for other autoimmune disease, such as fibromyalgia, but she said if results negative, probably is menopause and I should try supplemental estrogen.

At this point I'll try anything. Stay tuned.

I took synthetic hormone for years and still had the all problems you mentioned as well as brain fog (feel stupid and forgetful). Didn't improve till I started taking Armour Thyroid. You may have to look around to find a doctor who will prescribe it for you, but its worth it once you get to a dosage that works for you... it's very individual.

Hi

I have the same problem.  Stable blood levels but still have the symptoms that you write of.   Have good CBC results, Hb, B 12 folate all good.  but have to eat such a small amount of food to keep weight under control, its RIDICULOUS.     So Ive just posted a question on this forum - do you treat hypothroidism just on labs alone or symptoms as well.

See who responds.

Take care

Jo
