what is the problem

I was taken off of hrt because of uterine build up. I weaned off slow as not to get hot flashes back with a vengence. I am off hrt completely for about 3 months. I was getting mild hot flashes a bit,but now I am getting hot alot more and they are quite severe. I don't know if they are hot flashes or to do with my thyroid or some other gland issue. They are not the same as they were before. Very intense heat. i don't know what to think. Can some other gland issue cause my body to get really hot or is it just severe hot flashes? I just started taking red clover about a week ago. It takes 4-6 weeks for it to help. Does anyone have any answers?

I went through surgically induced menopause this year complete with hot flashes.  The hot flashes experienced from my thyroid levels being out of whack (post surgery and during RAI) were MUCH more intense than menopausal ones.  Talk to your doctor and see if he/she could run a thyroid panel.

What kind of thryoid test should I have her do? Should I get my parathyroid checked and my calcium levels too? She usualyy just checks my tsh and free t4.Iread in one question to the Dr. from a patient who said she felt faint and I felt that way one day and have had gastronal problems for the last month or more.but has settled down because I took Zantac 75. I read on a web site for parathyroid about some of my symptoms. I'll have to get her to check it all. out.

Talk to your doctor and tell her what you are feeling.  Mention running a full thyroid panel and ask her what else may be leading to your hot flashes and calcium problems.  I'm sure the doctor will know what to run.  Maybe GravesLady has some suggestions.
