what thyoid med works for you?

I am currently on levoxl. Has anyone had any problems? Do most people like this med or should I experiment with different med not generic. Also does anyone know why it is recomended to have a full glass of water after taking thyroid med? Thanks,Lori

I am on synthroid brand name and doing ok.  Took 10mos to regulate it.  Then some more tweeking recently.

Anxiety is my main side effect and word loss when speaking which went away with a med dose decrease.

One reason is Levoxl is one of the fastest dissolving of any of the Thyroid Meds,it it very recommended one should drink a full glass of water so there is no choking involve of the med,(Caught in your throat) This allows all the medication to reach the stomach, and 1-1.5 hours before eating any foods or other liquids so it can absorb into your system. Brand names differ in filler,and some do best on one then the other, it is a long process of trail and error on what make you feel better,or what gets your number to the level your body is feeling best with.
