You are missing the most important thyroid hormone test, which is Free T3. Free T3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. FT3 has been shown to correlate best with hypo symptoms, while FT4 and TSH correlated very poorly. I think you need to request testing for Free T3 and Free T4, along with TSH to see where your levels are currently. If the doctor resists then you should insist on it and don't take no for an answer.
Even if your FT3 result is within the so-called "normal" range that does not mean that it is adequate for YOU. The range is too broad for that to be the case. Frequently we hear from members that symptom relief required that FT3 was adjusted to the upper part of the range and FT4 adjusted to midpoint of its range. Symptom relief should be all important, not test results. Test results are valuable mainly as indicators during diagnosis and then afterward to track FT3 and FT4 levels as meds are revised to relieve symptoms.
The most important part of successful treatment for hypothyroidism is having a good thyroid doctor that will treat you clinically by testing and adjusting FT3 and FT4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels.
oh reference range fot T4 were 0.82-1.77 and for TSH were 0.450-4.500
these are results before synthroid////Thyyroxine (t4) Free irect S T4 Free=1.12,TSH =1.280,I ont guess they did T3
Any loss of sex drive would not be related to the Synthroid, but likely to insufficient levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4. If you have been tested for FT3 and FT4, along with the usual TSH test, then please post test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report and members will be glad to help interpret and advise further.
