Is my levothroid dose making me feel the way I do

I had my thyroid removed back in Nov 04 dt pap. thyroid cancer.  I needed no treatment other than with thyroid replacement therapy.  About a week after my surgery my legs started feeling weak, and numb like the circulation was being cut off.  Then some months later my mouth started with a metalliac taste.  The doc lowered my pills some but yet I still get the weak feeling my my legs, and I have a raw feeling in my mouth.  Some days I ache so bad I feel as though I'm coming down with something.  Usually after a few days I start feeling better.  The doc doesn't want to change my dosage anymore saying that it's in the normal range "High/Normal"  Why must it stay in the high/normal range when they got all the cancer.  I will be seeing an endo next mo. and was wondering if theres any tips out there that can possibly be brought up to him. (New Doc)  My lab results were...T4 11.2, T3 3.7, and TSH .38  Any Suggestions.  It's been 8 months now and I figure I should be feeling better by now!

Your TSH level looks pretty good. I have heard that recovery from thyroid removal is a very long process. Another person that I spoke with had the same thing and she said that she had deep body swelling and problems with her legs. She is still not fully recovered and it has been over a year and a half.I am not trying to scare you in anyway, but it is something you might want to discuss with the doctor. Every person is different and some take longer to recover. I do not think it's your meds.

I will consider the deep body swelling when I talk to the doc.  But............  What would make my gums tingle and the roof of my mouth and tongue feel raw???  Could it be that the T4 is a little on the high side???  Again the legs tingle as well right down to the toes.

I am not sure whats making your mouth tingle, but the inside of my mouth and tongue was raw. From what I assume I ended up with some form of infection, because my immune system was attacking my thyroid. I have quite a bit of leg pain at night when I am resting, but I have read that is a part of thyroid disease.

did they say what type of mouth infection?  I don't have leg pain.  Mine just tingle and they're that way all day long.  Were you put on any antibiotic?

They called the mouth infection trush. No, they didnt put me on anything once I started synthroid it cleared up.
