Why can't I control my legs anymore?

I don't really know if this is the right topic. I'm sorry if it is not. Currently, and since I got out of the Marines in 2004, I have the leg movements that are completely uncontrollable. They used to not be an issue, but in the last year they have become a major problem for me. During work, play and sleep...they will just start randomly moving. Most of the time it comes in the form of a sudden jerk or kick or twitch. The action is extremely sudden and in most cases now it will force most of my body into a contortion. I find if I move my legs a lot or just constantly keep the moving it doesn't happen as often. On rare occasions, and when the movement is very violent, it will be accompanied by a neck jerk and a painful look on my face (can't control that either). Sometimes the contortions do hurt as well, but generally I don't feel any pain except when the twitch slams me into a wall, door or desk. What is happening to me? And how can I stop it?
