Heart Transplant at high altitude

I'm a 75 yr old heart transplant recipient of 15 plus years. I am presently living in a city that is 7000ASL. I am finding that when horizontal I have shortness of breath, requiring deep breathing from time to time. A common trait of transplants can be higher than normal pulse rate. My rate is up at about 104 during the day, and when I get up in the morning about 95.

My b/p is running 107-110/65-70. I had a pulmonary examination and was told by the dr. that my lungs are in better than average conditiion for my age. When sleeping I do not wake up during the night with shortness of breath. I am assuming that the combination of lower b/p, higher pulse rate and high altitude is not good. Consequently I am looking to move to a lower altitude. Any comments, suggestions?

I am a 30-something Heart Tx recipient of 10 years. I know of this shortness of Breath you are describing... I had the majority of mine in the first 3 years. My doctors said this was normal. and only occasionally do I have it now. I do not live in a "high Altitude" area, but when I went to Denver, Co (mile above sea level) for a week, I did notice that I was shorter of breath than normal. I would assume that if it was due to high altitude, you would've noticed it the whole time you have lived in higher altitude, not just cropping up recently?
