Lung Transplant.. Tramadol?

by iamdavid7, Sep 05, 2009 08:24AM
I am currently waiting on a double lung transplant, would there be any complications if I were taking tramadol whilst waiting? My mother gets this for back pain and I often take 2 a day to help with pain/inflamation and it also helps me relax, I rather take these than anti depressants.

Although I am not sure if this would cause problems if i were taking them regularly and then if i were to get the surgery.. should I be ok, or should I come off them?

This is something you would have to ask the transplant team; people on here are not equiped to answer this question. We do not know the affects of the drug during surgery or what the half life of the drug is. Call the transplant team.
