we have been though most of the illness that goes with liver failure ,what l would like to know what happens at the end if we dont get that new liver , we have now been on liver tranplant for 2 yrs, when they said we only had 18 mouths left , my husband has done well made his self eat when he cant faceFace pain eating l believe that is why hes done so well.
I have been there. I went through all of that last year. Unfortunately it sounds like your husband is very near the end and needs a transplant badly. When I was lying in ICU and bleeding into my lungs, drowning, I had a vision of Heaven and the Lord told me I would be getting a new liver and live. Five months later and numerous hospital stays, with them draining my stomach of 7 to 9 liters of fluid every two days, a hospital doctor came to me and said he had a vision from Jesus who told him I would be getting a liver the next day. The next day a donor liver was offered to me from a co-worker whos 20 year son died in a car wreck that same day. Everything was a match and I was transplanted the next morning. I am not 7 months out and the liver is doing fine. All through it I kept my faith in the Lord, it's the only way I could have made it. I pray for you and your husband, "Oh Father in Heaven, we ask that you will cast your favor and blessings upon this familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources and this man. Restore him, provide for him your miracles and give him back to his family. Comfort the family members with your loving embrace and give them strength to endure this, their time of need. In Your majestic name, Amen." If you have faith and believe in your heart, it can happen. May the Lord's will be done.

I am so sorry to hear your sad story.
I needed a transplant and my daughter offered to be a donor. Since I have no insurance we traveled to Taiwan where I had the tp done for about $75k. That included my daughter's hospital care and both of our pretesting, etc. Unfortunatly they don't operate on patients with cancer. But I think more live liver tps are an anwere to the problem of not enough cadaveric livers available.
P.S. This hospital had a donor mortality rate of 0 !! and few complications.
Telaprevir is a protease inhibitor that will be combined with treatment Interferon & Ribavirin. to the best of my knowledge it is out or near the end of clinical trial Phase 3, and should be available to us in less than 2 years.
