m plus lenses

have agreed to have the m plus lens fitted in both eyes ,however have been given two different opinions regarding fitting the same strength lenses in both eyes or to have one lens made to accommodate better reading at vdu level ,does anyone have a view on this ,my surgeon feels it is better to have the same lenses fitted in both eyes
