does any know how often i can get a thoracentesis procedure, seems like i need it every week to relieve shortness of breath ?

If you are dealing with a transplant team, you need to call them and let them know about what's going on. Treatments for transplant patients are often times different than for the general public. Call you transplant team.

i just saw the director of the transplant team, he said even tho my meld is low @10 they were going to try to get me on the list, because of my pulminary issues. im going for a thoracentesis again today thats one a week now, and never had a Paracentesis done as they say my abdomin (abdomen) shows very little fluid.my viral show is very low most of the doctors do a double take when they see it @ 43

i feel like im treading water wating to be transplanted thoracentsis is being done once a week and pulling off 1.5 liters each time by the end of the week im so out of breath. and no appitite i think the fluid is pressing on my stomach..........hope i can keep treading

since the thoracentesis was being done twice a week, i now have a do-it-yourself pleurx catheter installed and am draining off 1 liter a day my meld doubled just waiting for the phone to ring now. im at the top of the list
