Iam a medical doctor from India. Here many intramuscular injections are given in triceps. but when I search in the internet, not many injections except steroids are given in triceps. Can anybody please through light on this. What is the recommendation and what is the actual practice. Thank you all in advance.
There are a variety of vaccinations that are recommended to be given intramuscularly and others that are given subcutaneously.
Usually, in the US, when intramuscular injections are administered in the upper arm, the injection is given into the lower 1/3 of the deltoid muscle.
