Is this Trigeminal Neuralgia

by Manhattan, Aug 24, 2008 01:34PM
I have been suffering with a toothache type pain in the area of the upper right fourth molar. This pain sometimes radiates up into my head as a stabbing pain and also I notice my neck and shoulders are sore and at the base of my skull. I have seen a dentist and endodontist and both see nothing wrong. The ENT did a sinus CT scan and said I had a deviated septum towards the right which might be contributing along with non-allergic rhinitis. To complicate things I've been treated on and off again for Lyme Disease and despite current treatment, my headaches are worse. I also sometimes feel this pain on the left as well in a milder form. Have tried Topamax, Amitryptiline and Cymbalta as per my neurolgist to no avail. This pain is on top of ten or so migraines per month. I do not know where to turn at this point. Had an MRI last summer and that was clear. Could this toothache pain by Trigeminal Neuralgia? I would imagine if it was Lyme related, the headaches would initially get worse then better with treatment but it's gone the opposite way. Thank you for your input.
