Is it tn?

2 1/2 years ago I got an episode of what I think was tn. My pain wasn't electric shock like but more of a deep burning pain that crescendoed like a contraction. I had attacks 8/9 times a day over a 3 week period and no normal pain killers helped. I had 2 root canal surgeries but nothing helped. Finally I was prescribed amitryptaline which worked. Then it all disappeared and hasn't come back.
Is it tn? My pain wasn't like electric shocks and although really bad wasn't as horrendous as I have heard described. I live in fear of it returning.
