Professor of Neurology Recruiting Patients For First TN Dietary Study
You may want to try a recently discovered unique diet for stopping TN pain. The public first became aware of this therapy when it was introduced by the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association (TNA) in their book “Striking Back”. Dr. Rhoton, Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Florida, included a presentation at TNA’s National Conference in the Walt Disney World Resort. Subsequently the association has promoted the diet with articles, patient referrals, and online chat sessions.
When a neurologist heard that recently 40 patients stopped their pain by controlling saturated fat, he volunteered to donate his time to do the first dietary study on TN pain. He is on staff at a major metropolitan hospital, in private practice, listed in Who’s Who, a professor of neurology, and authored many peer-reviewed papers. If the diet is effective, you can be included in this study that will be running until the summer of 2011. This would only require answering some questions by email. Mrs. Dorothy Churukian, the first patient on the diet, had TN for 35 years. After 6 failed TN procedures, she has been pain free for 12 years and has stopped medication. In a few months she will be 89.
This diet is only effective for typical TN (sporadic electrical-like shocks of excruciating pain). In a few weeks you will know if the diet will stop your pain and if medication can be discontinued. Previous percutaneous procedures, radiation, or MVD surgeries do not necessarily reduce the diet’s ability to stop pain. The American Heart Association recommends this diet.
For a free copy of a10-page report that includes the diet’s origin, instructions, recipes, testimonials, the saturated fat in 140 foods, and related health information, send your post office mailing address to ***@****. Postage will be paid for mailing to any country. If you choose not to give your home or email address, then mail the address of your employer or that of a friend’s to Frank Sherwood, 1037-1 N. Old Woodward, Birmingham MI 48009.
If you would like to talk to a patient, phone numbers and email address are available for registered nurses in the US and Canada that are on the diet and pain free. I have been a patient advocate with Tim Guith’s TNA support group for 12 years. Tim has a neurologist, neurosurgeon, or medical professional speak at every monthly meeting for the 12 years. If you have questions about the work I have been doing, please contact Tim at ***@****.
Trigeminal neuralgia is a complex disease. No therapy or surgery will help every patient, but in a few weeks you will know if you can benefit from this option. Please contact me if you have questions or would like verification of this information.
