Sleep Apnea to Trigeminal Neuralgia

by danbo, Sep 18, 2008 02:44PM
My headaches started about 3 years ago, which was 2 months after I got my c-pap machine for sleep apnea.  I used the nose pillows, but the headset went across my face.  After 2.5 years of hunting the cause of my headaches which included two molar removals, I finally got diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia on my right side.  This is the side I have slept on all of my life, but can't anymore.  Is it possible that the way the c-pap face mask fit across my right cheek that this was the original cause of my trigeminal neuralgia?  If so, what treatments would make me back to normal?  Prednezone does make the condition go a way for a couple of weeks at a time.  I now have a different headset that does not go across my face.

I'm only speaking from experience.  I have had several sugeries for TN pain.  I can't have anything to touch my face it will start shocking.  I would think having anything on your cheek would trigger trigeminal neuralgia.  Make sure you go to your neuro doctor who can help you...I'm not sure what will get you back to normal.  I've had my TN for 7 years.
Good Luck!
