Accoring to modern medicine, there is no known cure, well besides surgery of course. But there are plenty of alternative therapies that do work ease the symptoms and help repair nerve fibers.
Essentially TN is caused because of disruption of the sheath around trigeminal nerve fibers. The exposure of these nerves causes pain triggers.
There are some herbs in Ayurveda (an ancient Indian natural medicine practice) that help regenerate these nerve fibers (gradually over time).
Meanwhile, I would recommend Acupuncture to help deal with the pain (so that its natural (side effect and dependency free)
Look up Niargim (from synerveda) - It is a combination of herbs and botanical extracts and TN Factor. They worked for me...I hope they do you good too..
Cheers :)

While there is no cure for TN, many people have used a variety of medications, surgeries, and alternative medicine (like Accupuncture and special forms of Chiropractics) to relieve their pain for long periods of time.  There is research in progress that may benefit propel with TN.

Basically what I'm saying is to have hope. Personally I have been medication-free and pain-free for almost 4 years now.

Let us know how you're doing,
Nancy
