facial neuralgia

In 2003 I had transphenoidal pituitary surgery.............for a gh secreting tumor  

A year later I started to have facial pain on and off

Ive had lots of major dental work and right now have such severe pain .......eye tearing and pain and nose running with burning pain ........I take tylenol and this pain going from my nose across my face to the back of my head is so severe I cant function.  
I live in michigan and had my pit surgery in boston and now made an apt with a neuro surgeon in mich...which is a month away .........
I dont know If I can make it that long............
I thought this was facial neuraglia from my tooth...........but now ...I dont know what to do or where to go .
The dentist is of no help at all and isnt knowledgeable about any of this..........

Hi I am sorry, I am in the same boat.  I don't know what to do either.  I have been on meds for a long while and nothing seems to work for this pain, its relentless.  I have no life anymore either, and I hate the way I act towards others to, because I am in pain constantly.  It is so hard, I never knew pain like this exsisted.  I am so sick and tired of fighting pain.  DId you get to see anyone else since you posted here.  How is the medication working for you.  I have TMJ, and some sort of terrible neuralgia, might be Atypical TN, but here they have no clue.  I live in Ontario Canada, and the doctors here have no clue about this stuff.

I know its been a while...........but thanks for the reply
I couldnt find my way back to this place. until now
Funny .....Its a few weeks later and im still in extreme pain........my new dr.....not a neuro.......gave me some vicodin..........which i have not yet taken ........and some days the pain is so severe i feel like ill jump off a dam bridge......or something
I want my life back........nothing is good with this pain ...
Im not the nice person I use to be.........I cant laugh without pain
this is misery

I think you should go to your hospitals ER.   Even though they are not all familiar with TN, they can prescribe something right away to hold you until you see your neurologist.
