Ovulation test strip..positive or negative how do u tell

The store was all out of  the clear blue easy refills so I got a pkg of regular ovulation strips. How do I tell if it is a positive ? Does the line have to bthe same as the test line ? Or can it b a bit lighter? My line was almost as dark as the test line.so does thatean there is a surge? Any advise? I will try to post a pic of the test to c what I mean .

I think yesterday was the darkest. Thank you. It would be wonderful to get a bfp this month.

I think and only think because I don't know much about opks. But I thought that it was lighter near the beginning and end of your surge. So when your surge is at it's highest is when the line is darkest or closest to the test line.
Make sure you bd every OTHER day while you are ovulating for best results!
Good luck...hopefully your next line will be a BFP!!
