? motrin and abdominal pain

i am 48 yr old female experiencing abdominal pain, cramping, alternating mostly constipation with bouts of somewhat loose stools. this has been going on for two weeks now and i'm getting concerned. i have had bilateral flank discomfort off and on with crampy abdominal pain, nausea, gas. seems to get worse after eating with bad upper abdominal cramps, feel like i may have to move bowel, but nothing. i was taking motrin 800 mg approx. for 1 week before this started. haven't noticed blood in stool. had a colonoscopy two years ago which showed just a few diverticuli. have been under stress also. just a sick feeling, no weight loss or loss of appetite or fever.  also had an upper gi series within the past year which was also negative.  should i be concerned, getting very anxious.

I use to depend on Motrin, or NSAIDS, Anti Inflammatories, or aspirin, what they all had in common for me is messing up my blood work and making my stomach hurt. I cut those out and switched to a lighter pain killer and I am better . ALso don't bruise as much as Dr.'s believed I had a bleeding disorder. Or did I or was it these medecines, Anyway I hope you get some relief. CRystal

Motrin is causing your stomach problems. It is common with that large of a dose, You might call your Dr. & see if he can give you something else.    God Bless, Jean
