19 male, lumps on sides of groin (below skin)

I am 19 male and just had an xray of a mass under my right collar bone which I had done right before the holidays so I did not get the results yet. Today I just noticed that on each side of my groin inside there are lumps I felt 3 on my right side and I feel 2 on my left, they are in a row almost like they are on a vein or something.

I just want to know if these lumps are normal

Thank you Doctornee Medical,

I just got a call from the doctor saying the x-ray of my back and collar bone were fine, do you think I should still go in to have the lumps checked? They are located in the v line where the legs meet the hips on each side but I found them by chance and I could of had them forever and not known about it

Hi! Since you have small lumps it can either be swollen lymphnodes or neurofibromas. Swollen lymph nodes in the groin could be due to STDs (e.g., gonococcal infection, herpes simplex virus, syphilis, chancroid, granuloma inguinale, lymphogranuloma venereum etc), infection in foot, dermatitis in pelvic area, boils in pelvic area etc.
Swollen lymph nodes across multiple areas (like you have near your collar bone) or generalized lymphadenopathy can be due to viral infections such as mono or EBV or cytomegalovirus or due to bacterial infections like TB.  HIV or AIDS, leukemia, lymphomas and other cancers can also be a cause. This could also be due to inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. It is difficult to determine the cause on net. This is not something you should ignore. Please consult your doctor. Take care!
