24 hr monitor ?

by lisapep, Dec 07, 2005 12:00AM
Thank you so much for your time. I have met my limit in the heart room and rats forgot to ask one question (so i want to make sure i folow the rules here at medhelp).  I am hoping you can assist me. I am a 32 year old female, not overweight. and walk 1-1/2 miles 3 days per week. No family history of heart disease . my qeustion is as follows

Here it goes.   had 2 ekgs.  one 24 hour holter. a full cbc, metabolic blood panel and basically every blood test imagineable and all came back fine.  i get heart palpitations occassionally. and had a few with the 24 hour monitor.  the dr. said they were benign.  However while i was on the monitor i had some strange sharp pains on the left side and they did not show up on the monitor. SPmetimes i get the same pain on the right side.  when they happen my pulse does not change and neither does my b/p and once it happened while on the ekg and it did not change either.  It is not always in the same spot.  it can be closser into my sternum or more towards my arm.  just seems to move.
so my ? with all the test that were done could it still be my heart if so why did it not show up on the 24 hour or the ekg?.  Aside from meds.. what can you suggest to do during a palpitation to help them go away and anything that can be done afterwords for the nervousness,

This was my last question for this very consuming issue.  I know they are bening but BOY ARE THEY SCARY!!!! any assistance you can give would be so appreciated.  Thank you so very very much

Your chest pain could be arm pain or you clenching your chest muscles without you knowing about it.

I say arm pain because I often hold my arm close to my chest when I am nervous and the pain feels like it is in my chest when it is actually my arm. There is also the chance of phantom pain because you think something is going to happen.
