3 years and 4 months NON STOP HEADACHE

by keegs257, May 04, 2008 12:46AM
Hey, my names keegan and i am a 24 yr old male from Australia . I have had a non stop headache for 3 years and 4 months, ive seen about 40 health specialts including Pycholigists, Pyschiatrists, Neuroligists, had scans, had every alternative therpay avaliable, tried anti deps, anti anxiety meds and basically everybody agrees it is still psychological. They say in rare cases trauma at a young age can come back in pyshical symptons later in life. The pain has also spread through face and ears and down arms at times.Sometimes after going to pyshios or chiros my pain levels go down but they have never once left. I have been close to suicidal from the chronic pain and now i spend most my time trying to get my mind of the pain because it becomes self obsessive and you become narcisitic. So my question is has anybody heard of anxiety related incidents in childhood causing chronic pain to somebody 15 years later for years on end?  Its a living hell but i am trying to have hope that healing is possible.
thankyou,
keegan brice

This sounds awful.  Have you tried Hypnotherapy?  Just a thought.

Aside from your headache, is anything else stressing you out?  Try massages, reflexology or meditation to unwind.  How's your diet?  Do you exercise regularly?

There is a neurotransmitter called GABA which acts as natural valium.  When it is out of balance you can get headaches amongst other things.  It is made from glutamine, found in flour and potatoes.  The temporal lobe produces GABA so you could perhaps ask your doctors about that.

Um...did you HAVE trauma at a young age? Do YOU believe that is what is going on? If you've see over 40 docs I'm assuming they've done mri with AND without contrast? Have all your tests and bloodwork come back COMPLETELY normal? One thing that comes to mind is that you might be losing spinal fluid. This can cause constant severe headache. Docs can miss it too on scans, as its uncommon. Usually happens as a result of a head injury, but in a large percentage of cases it's  idiopathic, meaning it just happens. There is a specific test where they measure the amount. Some sort of pressure test I think. Do you have any drainage from your nose?

My daughter has had constant headaches for 2 years - exercise is out of the question because it makes the headache worse.  She has been through all the test except the spinal fluid pressure test.  We will work on getting this one done next.   Her headache is like is skull is going to explode.   Let me know if you find anything that works or helps and I'll do the same
