Abnormal Cortisol

do I just give up?  I have been battling my weight forever.  Back in 2011 my Cortisol AM level was 0.6 LOW ---normal: 4.0-22.0. Now my latest test is the following:  2/4/13  Cortisol AM 33.0 HIGH- normal is 6.2 - 19.4  - Cortisol PM 5.9 NORMAL (taken at 2PM) so then I had to take a pill at night and that blood test showed 0.8 LOW---normal 6.2 - 19.4.  But the endocrinologist told me that there is nothing wrong with me. Then why are these test results not normal?  Why can't I loose the weight that I am so desperate to loose?  I work my butt off, 50 hours a week, 1000 calories a day.  Then I just went on Weight Watchers, gained 2 lbs in 1 week.  I do keep a food journal, I have done Overeaters Anonymous, I've done the shakes.  Where do I go from here?  All my body fat is in the upper abdomen.  It is all so depressing.

Take your lab results to a Endocrine specializing in Cushings Disease or check out the NIH test studies.  Great advances have been made in discovering a pitutary tumor creating this and once removed your functions return to normal.  There are many YouTube videos search "Cushing's" and listen to their testimonies.  See if any sound familiar with what you are experiencing.

Cortisol is caused by stress in the body as a form of anxiety, fight or flight, and it sounds like you have much stress and depression which will raise cortisol completely! Try to drink 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar a day, as your system is no doubt highly acidic! And take it one day at a time! Try not to get frustrated, as "rome wasn't built in a day." It takes time to put on weight, therefore time to lose! Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat, so never ever go by what the scale tells you, go by your clothes and how you are FEELING! motion creates emotion! So keep doing what you are doing! The fact that you recognize this is a MAJOR stepping stone! And also crash diets never work out so try to eat somewhat sensibly, and maybe it may help to meditate or relaxation, youtube Kelly Howell, she is amazing for stress. And when your body is alkaline, and cortisol levels raise, that could lead to more worrisome problems then your weight. But keep doing what you re doing, 1 step at a time! and relax! I wish you the best!
