Absolutely Tired

Ok...so I suffer from "Anxiety"....which is doctors terms means "We cant find anything wrong with you and your not worth us spending money on tests and referals etc so we will just call it this..."...

I have gotten so used to most of the symptoms even though they always ruin my day to day life.

But recently ive been getting spells of absolute fatigue.

It all started one day when I was out shopping....had a large meal....got back in friends car and then dropped off on the drive home...I thought fair enough...large meals make me tired as does a long drive so I put it down to that.....but the thing is usually when I get tired from that combination...as soon as im out of the car I feel better...or at least 15-20 mins after....only this time....the tiredness didnt stop and lasted the whole 6 hours after untill I finally went bed....And since then...between 1pm and 4pm everyday ive been getting hit by this unbelievable tired spell that last hours.....its like im on the verge of sleep...it comes on so sudden and completely takes over my concerntration....I have to fight and fight and fight to keep from just curling up and sleeping. It also doesnt really cure itself after a nap. Now I really dont want to go doctors for them to just say "its stress" as per usual. So I wonder if anybody has any ideas what it could be that I could research.....Heres some of factors. I have just stopped working so im not as busy during the day. I am getting a little less exercise but not much. My diet isnt very nutrional and I have been having a lot of dreams when I go sleep which I know effects how tired you are the next day. But even though I have all those factors <<< the tiredness does still feel out of proportion.

Any help would be great.....now im off to have a nap.....its just hit me

I was hoping it wouldnt be something so serious....Im just worried about going doctors incase they just say its stress again and cause me to lose all my faith in them. Im going to see if I get the same today and If I do ill go doctors. Im not convinced its a brain tumor. And as far as im aware id have more syptoms with sleep apnea....eg waking at night etc. And somedays its wore than others. Im also not convinced it is CFS because physically im not tired in the slightest...just mentally......and its not all the time....its just between 1 and about 8. Im going to get a BP check today so I can keep track of that....

Thanks guys...ill ask the doctor about all the things you have suggested.

Yes, please do get a sleep study as advised. You could have a sleep disorder that you are not aware of (after all, you're sleeping, right!). Anything that disrupts your sleep stages is likely to leave you tired and sleepy the next day.

Hello,

You seem to be having hypersomnia or chronic fatigue syndrome.

Hypersomnia refers to a set of related disorders that involve excessive daytime sleepiness.Causes may be excess intake of caffeine, alcohol intake, obstructive sleep apnea, shift duties, disorders of the hypothalamus, nervous system disorders like brain tumors, Circadian rhythm sleep disorders and  some medications.

Chronic fatigue syndrome often manifests with widespread myalgia and arthralgia, cognitive difficulties, chronic mental and physical exhaustion. Complete physical examination along with investigations like ESR blood, platelet count etc are required.
I feel that you should consult a sleep specialist and a physician and get polysomnograms(sleep study) done to find a confirmatory diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing.

Oh and by the way...apart from the first time I noticed this.....The weird thing is that by the time I should normally be ready to settle down...eg 8-9pm....I suddenly gain all the energy back. And its been going on for 5 days now...How much longer shall I wait before I go in and find out its "Stress" again?
