Acid burning feeling in my stomach

by elite77, Apr 11, 2009 11:17AM
My stomach muscles sometimes go hard then medium hard then hard when they feel hard its when I feel the acid burning feeling. What could this be? Its like when I drink pop or something it does it. Sometimes even without drinking it. The burning feeling goes from very noticeable to just noticable it never 100% goes away :(. I'm only 20. Its on both muscles one between the belly button its on one side then the other side too. Its been like this for almost 2-3 months.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
It’s difficult to comment without examining. There are a few possibilities. One is gastric reflux or GERD. The other is there is a chance of slight leaking of a stomach ulcer, that gets sealed by the mesentry in the abdomen and again there is a leak and so on. Once there is a leak the abdomen muscles tense up in response to the leak.  The third possibility is a clot or thrombus in the veins of the abdominal muscles.
Hope this helps. Do consult your PCP regarding this. You may need to consult an nternal medicine specialist too. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
