Arm pain with noticeable veins and numbness at night

by mystressgaia, Mar 20, 2007 12:00AM
I am having severe pain that lasts a couple of seconds at a time in my right arm, I have also noticed that right after the pain stops my arm feels tingly and all my veins are quite noticeable.  I have also been having trouble sleeping because it seems my right arm is constantly falling asleep and when I move I get pins and needles in the whole thing.  Is there anything that can be done for this? Is it a forewarning of other problems?  I would rather not have to go to the doc if its not an emergency but the pain in my arm which comes and goes is now hurting worse when the pain does come. Please help. Thanks

I have a similar prob on my right arm which I used a lot for tennis, but this pain started with hypothyroid problem. But if I sit on a chair or sit on bed leaning against wall then feel better and then get to sleep again. If I take a pill on hypothyroid then magically pain got reduced very soon. I think my shoulder is being freezing for a month now and there is no way to stop it, just follow natural course. At this stage gentle arm stretch exercise seems to be helpful and also like 30 mins walk a day also good.
