Sorry I didn't see your post before now.
My symptoms were fatigue, weakness, and constipation. This was years ago but now I add vitamin supplements of Vitamin B-12 with folic acid along with my other daily vitamin routine.
B-12 deficiency is due to inadequate absorption. Soreness of the mouth or tongue is symptoms, among many others . I have found nothing relating B-12 to teeth however it doesn't mean its not so, it just means I myself haven't found a correlation between the two, maybe others have.
B-12 dose not always display medical problems associated with B-12 deficiency. Pernicious anemia is especially common in older people. It is caused by a lack of vitamin B-12 and is not a dietary problem. Unlike most other vitamins, B-12 is stored in substantial amounts, mainly in the liver. The body's stores of this vitamin would take about 3 to 5 years to exhaust.
It appears to be an autoimmune disease and is more common in people with other autoimmune diseases.
Hope this helps.

Thanks again to everyone who has responded.
Another question, would low b-12 have any effect on sensitive teeth. Out of no where, my teeth have become soooo sensitive?
Did your doctor do the bloods to see if you have pernicious anemia? If you have an absorption problem or a problem with the intrinsic factor - they normally give shots every day for a week, every second day, once a week, forthnightly, once a month etc, to build back up the Vit B12 levels in the blood - thereafter once every three months should be sufficient. Well that's my personal experience as I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia about 8 years ago. I found that after the intensive injections over the initial 2 weeks I began to feel a bit more energetic but it actually took a while to get rid of the slump prior to the 3 monthly injections, I also went through the pins and needles period but now I kind of know if I need a shot and if I need one before the allocated time particularly over the winter the Doctor is happy to accomodate me - but regular blood tests to check the levels are a must.
Hope this helps.

thanks for everyone's reply. :)
I have only had one shot so far, but this week, she moved me up to two shots a week. Thought about also doing the sublinqual b-12's at home. I cant take the dizziness/foggy feeling.
May I ask what your symptons were? My doctor said it could be up to two-three months before I notice a change~ :(
I started feeling better on the first shot, that is within a few days. For me shots work far faster and better than in pill form.
Good Luck!
The B-12 shots are the best way to get B-12 into the system, however there is sublingual B-12 with folic acid as an alternative. In general humans take in enough B-12, but there is a complex problem with absorbtion. There are receptors for B-12 sublingually and at the far end of thew mowel and conventional B-12 supplements don't always survive the transit.
Does he/ she have you on a multi-b supplement as well?
