Back Pain and Protein in Urine

Age 45, 190 lbs, otherwise good health.  Went to the doctor with side/back pain.  Took urine specimin and x ray.  X Ray showed nothing wrong - everything looked normal.  Urine showed no blood and doctor believed that I did not have kidney stone.  He did state that there was 'a little protein' (30 mgs) in the urine.  He wants me to do the 24 hour urine capture over the weekend and bring the sample back to them on Monday morning.  What does 30 mgs protein in the urine mean?  I feel fine (except for the pain in  my side).

Protien in urine can be linked to improper kidney function. It's goos that you are doing the 24-hour uninalysis.Good luck.
