Blue Sclera

Hello everyone,

I am new here and have (apparently) an odd problem!

I went to my doctor a few weeks ago as my sclera has turned blue. Only the visible area is blue- the rest remains white. It appears as if I have a blue contact lenses stuck to my eye (i don't!).
The Dr was shocked and said he hadn't ever seen this- cue a troop of doctors coming in for a look, all with no idea why it has turned like that.
My eyes are turning a more vivid blue as the days go on!
Dr did iron test and a liver function blood test- iron was OK as was liver. Ferritin on the lower side at 17- but not low enough to treat.
Dr shook his head and told me has no idea what it is or why its that way, so I was wondering if anyone else knows?!
I also have digestive problems, fatigue, and mild-moderate joint pains.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply! It's good to hear its not just me!
Should I post in the EDS group? Is this a symptom associated with EDS?
I only have mild joint pains- nothing extreme.
My doctor googled my symptoms and he did mention EDS but then said I would have known I had it from birth. I am wondering now if I should get a second opinion as the info he gave me doesn't appear entirely correct.
