Bruises all over

I'm a 33 year old female and I haven't felt
good in a long time. I always have a over
all sick feeling. The thing that concerns me
most is I get bruises all over my body. I
do not (I have been very aware of this)
bump into anything or hurt myself. I go
to bed without bruises and wake up with
many. Some are big some are small and
sometimes they show up in groups of 6
or 7. They are are on my arms and tops
of my hands they are on my legs and
sometimes even my stomach. It looks like
someone beats me!!  Last week I woke up
with a giant one on my calf it was very dark
purple almost black with pink in it. I was
scared I thought it was a blood clot, then
in about a week it went away. Then 3 days
later (today) I wake up and the bruise is
on my calf again! In the same place!  My
leg hurts a little. I have no insurance so
I'm hoping for help or ideas. I also always
get headaches and feel sick.  Anyone else
have these symptoms?  Oh one more thing I also get
foot cramps and spasms.

I want to say thank you to you both for
your responses and your imput. I would
like to say that I am not on any medication
or birth control pills. I just got home and
changed my clothes only to find more
bruises!!  This morning it was my calf and
left arm. Now I have 7 new bruises on my
right arm. I will not have health insurance
for two months. (new job) and can not
afford to pay a doctor right now. The best
I can do is go to the er. I don't know if I
should.   This really worries me. I have a
friend who is a first year resident doctor
he looked at my leg and said it felt like
there was a cord. He then told me it could
be a small blood clot! He told me to take
baby aspirin but I have gerd with a possible
ulcer and I don't know if this is ok to do.
He told me to take the enteric coated one.
Ugggh! Another thing to worry about. I don't
know if this leg bruise is another one of
my million bruises or now a potential clot.
To the first poster please let me know what
your doctor says. What do I do??

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
If you are not on any medications like anticoagulants, blood thinners or birth control pills then this could be due to clotting disorders, fragile spider veins, deep vein thrombus, deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K, a liver disease or certain cancers. It could also be due to pressure urticaria. If you are on medications then you need to discuss that with your doctor.
You need a comprehensive investigation taking all these points in consideration. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Please discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

HI Kim:  I went to see my general physician and I showed her my bruises on my upper abdomen all the way to my weist.  I also have calcifications on my left rib.  They are the size of a peanut there is about 5 of them.  She felt it is strange and order a CT Scan of my abdomen.  I still have to go do the CT.  I will share with you the results.  I hope this helps.  I was told that as we get older we bruise easily.  I have started bruising and when I was 53 years.  I don't considere myself that old.  You are only 33 years old, that is not normal.  There must be a free clinic around where you live.  Go see a doctor, do not mess around with this.  Love and Light  Elie
