Build up of cartilage in chest

I have been having chest pain for a couple months now and have almost like a lump were th pain is, its larger than my other side ive been told its a build up of cartilage in my chest but i dont understand how cartiage can just build up so another opintion would be nice

i did go, they did x-rays, an ultrasound, and did a heart photo thing i didnt know what it was but they said they couldnt see anything and it was the ultrasound that they said it was a cartilage build up

Its possible that it is a hiatal hernia.  You really should go to the doctor.  One because you are having chest pain and that should never be taken lightly, but two because I have never heard of cartilage building up on the chest.  I have heard of scar tissue building up due to injuries or surgeries, but I dont think that would cause chest pain.  You might want to be safe and go see your doctor and find out what is really going on.
