About a week ago My friend and I were hiding in a bush, then a couple days later when we went swimmming together, I told him that i got these oval shaped red dry spots all over my back and chest and one or two on my neck what are they because these are very sensitive and itchy! He has them too, we did not do anything in the bush but sitting down. That was it

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Sitting in the bush could have resulted in an allergic reaction from anything in vicinity-the leaves, the grass or the ground itself, something like poison ivy or even due to some insects. It is difficult to determine the cause unless you go back to the place and check. However please be careful not to touch anything. Meanwhile apply calamine lotion and cold compress to skin and take an OTC anti-allergic tablet. If this clears up then fine, otherwise consult your doctor.
Hope this helps. Take care!

Hello Brookybear,

In my opinion the description of your rash does not sound like poison ivy. Poison ivy appears as multiple small blisters, often in a line where the skin has brushed against the poison ivy plant. The itching can be insane. The blisters often break or weep.

It does sound like you came into contact with something that has given you a contact dermatitis. I would not take any medications until I had it evaluated by a physician.

Your rash sounds more like a Pityriasis Rosea Rash but that is not contagious nor should the two of you experience it at the same time. This Pityriasis Rosea Rash can also look like ringworm which is a red, dry usually round but sometimes oval rash. That is contagious but it is usually easily identifiable.

In my opinion I think you need to consult your primary care physician. I hope you will let us know what you discover. Good luck to you and your friend.

Take Care,
~Tuck

Do you think maybe its poison ivy? Dont go back in the bush, and take a benedrayl. Or use a calamine lotion, oatmeal bath. Its prob just something in the bush, you dont have to touch it even just breathe it. One time i went to visit my friends and spent the night..they live in a wooded area. I went into the house and spent the night. I woke up the next morning I woke up my face and hands were swollen with large red patches covering me. I was sooo itchy, here it was poision ivy. I didnt even go near it, but with the wind and all and just being around it i got a pretty bad reaction. If it doesnt go away in a couple days or doesnt feel better with the things i mentioned id go to the doctor. Good luck!
