Thank you for your response. I recently ended up in the ER due to a bladder infection that had been present for some time but untreated because I did not recognize the "new" pain because it was the same as my old pain. That was treated. When this all started back in 2008 I "thought" I had kidney stones because I had them before and the pain felt very much the same I had a renal ultrasound and nothing was found.
When they did my Diagnostic Laporoscopy last week they even had the proctologist come in for a look and they were unable to find a single thing that would cause the amount of pain i'm in. No ADHESIONS, ENDOMETRIOSIS, BOWL AREA CHECKED NOTHING....I pray that this Neuro can tell me something.
I went to PT for 3 months....nothing.
Just on Friday my PCP prescribed LYRICA and wow it made a BIG difference but the pain is still present but the meds seem to allow me to at least get up.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you had salpingo oopharectomy under spinal anesthesia, then this could be the cause of low back ache. At times it is due to persistent arachnoiditis. Ask your neurologist regarding this. Most of the times no cause is found, despite all tests.
Maintaining a good posture goes a long way in overcoming this type of pain. You can wear a lumbar belt to give support to the back muscles while you are working. Physiotherapy should work to strengthen the back muscles.
Alternatively a kidney stone or urinary bladder infection could be the cause. Please consult a neurologist and see if this helps.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Has anyone done a cystoscopy on you in case your bladder is the culprit? When they did your ovary removal, did they see any endometriosis? Endometriosis can be a source of low back pain. Implants can even be microscopic and not seen during even a laporotomy. With the pain so severe, you might want to consider having an exploratory laporotomy, where they can at least see the non-microscopic sized endometrial implants (if you have any) a lot better than with the laporoscopy. Make sure they know to check the cul de sac area. If they find any endometriosis, you might consider requesting them to do a complete hysterectomy. You would want to make sure they excise, and don't laser burn any endometriosis they see, because laser burning leads to more potential for excess scarring and adhesions, since the body views burned material as a foreign substance. I'm sorry you are suffering so much. Also, have they already tried PT with you to see if those low back muscles can be strengthened?
