Can anyone please help me??

I have been feeling unwell for many months now and my doctor is at a loss to know what is wrong. I have a heavy, cotton wool  feeling in my head, i feel spaced out, light headed and generally unwell. I suffer exhaustion after exertion and feel jittery, sick and ill. I have palpitations, breathlessness and my heart feels like it is pounding. Chest x-rays and b.p normal. I am 39 had a total hysterectomy at age 26 for endometriosis and i am not on hrt. I feel so exhausted and ill.  Some days are fine others i just feel like i am dying. I have also been told i may have IBS. Doctor at the hospital reckons it is psychological but i just want to feel healthy again. Please can anyone help me.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms you feel could be due to early menopause. Hence it is important to rule this out by a complete hormone panel (FSH, LH, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid). From you symptoms alone it sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome. This usually presents with widespread myalgia and arthralgia, headaches, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, concentration difficulty and memory problems.
Then you also need to investigate other causes of brain fog like liver dysfunction (get liver enzymes done—liver function test), kidney dysfunction (get kidney function test done), and anemia. Poor sleep pattern and sleep problems like sleep apnea too can cause brain fog. Sleep studies by sleep specialists can help diagnose this. Low Vit D or Vit B12 too could be the cause.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

All I can say is have you had a lot of lab work done? Maybe your thyroid is low or your blood sugar is off. do you have pain? Any other symptoms?  do you feel depressed? Can you get out of bed in the morning but just feel exhausted? Any fever or sore throat any symptoms of a virus for example. Eptein Barr virus or mono would do this but you usually have a sore throat with mono and a swollen lymph nodes. Sorry I'm a microbiologist and can't help think on that level.

I could be an environmental issue. Take a look around where you live and take notice of your emotions when you look at things, how do you feel? If so, think about the psychological aspect of why you have said emotions towards these things. I would also say you're suffering from a bout of depression. This can make you experience your symptoms. This is why I asked you to look at your enivornment. Some people experience said symptoms purely from their environment. Sounds, smells, people, etc.

Your symptoms can be anxiety and depression.  It's hard to believe sometimes that anxiety and/or depression can do this to a person but rest assured it can.
Check out the anxiety and depression forums.
