Hello, Im not a doctor, but as a youngster, I went trhu the same deal, and I'm not ashamed to say it...My doctor prescribed a million of medicines that nothing worked. For 4 years everything looked pretty bleak. For some reason, my old doctor went away and a younger dr. took my file. He prescribed Antivan and Prozac. Antivan works imediately and gives you a drowsy feeling, but very relaxing feeling, you only take when is needed and Prozac you take one little pill a day, every day, but dont expect immediate effects, for me it takes about 2 weeks, but i'll tell you..Is woth the wait.!!
I been taking that combination for over 20 years, and even though some bad things happen in life, i just choose to ignore them, but is because I have my medication. I hope this helped you. Doctors offer Prozac samples, you hardly have to pay $$...Dont wait.! Get to a doctor pronto.!! they will give you the stuff that will help you..YOU are beautiful as you are, is just the hormones in your little head telling you otherwise....Take care...
Sorry to hear you are feeling like this...everyone goes through times of depression, feelings like you describe...I am twice the age as you, yet I remember those days of being young and feeling those types of feelings, and it is difficult to know where or who to turn to. Those feelings you describe are normal.
What isn't normal, though, is for you to be going through that for an extended period of time, more than a couple or few weeks. Once it stretches into months, you need to get some professional help for chronic depression, or get some tests done to see if there are any underlying conditions your dr can figure out...sometimes vitamin deficiencies, hormones, thyroid, something affecting your pituitary gland, can have a bearing on your moods. Get a dr appt and ask, maybe you have other symptoms you haven't really paid attention to. Keep a journal of symptoms and feelings, and then you have some solid evidence to take to dr with you. Don't begin any diet or supplements without talking to dr and getting your levels checked first. Some blood tests might reveal some issues your dr can investigate.
Hope this helps some, I know when you are going through this everything can seem so overwhelming and confusing...I have gone through many periods like this myself for various reasons. Let your family or trusted friends know how you feel and you can get some support. It is worse when we try to do this and battle it on our own, even though that's exactly what we feel like doing...going into a cocoon.
Take care and please talk to someone about this like your dr and a trusted family member. Too often we try to hide that we are feeling like this and don't say anything so our loved ones who care for us don't understand the changes in us and don't know what to do to help. Communication is a first step to take in getting better.
