From time to time I get a canker sore - they are mostly located on or under my tongue. I once had one on my upper gum. I noticed the stinging white patch on the inside of my lower lip about 5 days ago. I was sure until today that it was a canker sore. My boyfriend looked at it and said it doesn't really look like a canker sore, and I think he's right. It's not circular, more oval but not a perfect oval (it's kind of jagged). Inside the sore is white but there are tiny red dots as well. The pain was at it's peak yesterday - it was a little better today. I'm worried that this is something worse than a canker sore (oral cancer). I don't smoke and rarely drink. Thoughts? Am I worrying over nothing?
